T. David Stapleton, Esq.

    T. David Stapleton is a founding member of the firm and is the third generation of his family to live and work in Cayuga County. His areas of practice have been primarily focused in Elder Law, Estate Planning and Administration, Real Estate, and Small Business counseling.

    David is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and serves on the Board of Directors of its New York Chapter. He is also active in the Elder Law Section of the New York State Bar Association, serving as its Treasurer and on its Executive Committee.

David Stapleton, Esq.    David is a frequent lecturer in the areas of his expertise, speaking at seminars for the NYS Bar Association, Smith Barney, Edward Jones, Farm Family Insurance, Hospice of the Fingerlakes, Cayuga County Office for the Aging, the county chapter of the Alzheimer Association, local chapter of NYS Association of Retarded Children, M & T Bank, Cornell University Cooperative Extension, the local Down Syndrome Association, Cayuga Community College, and the Syracuse University Public Policy course.

    In terms of local commitment, David has been actively involved in the business and not-for-profit sectors of community, as noted below. He has assumed a leadership role in many activities that have added to the quality of life in our community.

    He is married to the former Helene Karpinski, recently retired as an associate professor at Cayuga Community College, and they have three grown children: Shannon, Meghan, and David.
